First Book Query Submission

Last night I submitted my first query for my new book idea to a literary agent. I'm really excited. I know that getting someone to like your idea is a huge undertaking, but I'm just happy I took the time to send out my first query. I feel like this is a big step in my writing career - no matter what the outcome. Although, it would obviously be an even bigger step if the feedback is positive. I can't wait to hear what the agent's response is. I really love this idea that I have come up with - it really allows me to show who I am. I think I'm funny, endearing, sometimes unsure of myself, sometimes overly confident, sometimes too sensitive, other times extremely defensive, and more positive than people tend to think. That's what writing is to me - a chance to be myself. I absolutely love it. I'm not even sure I realized how much I loved it until I was so busy for a while I didn't have the energy to write. I also didn't realize how much I needed writing until recently. It brings a lot of peace of mind to my life. It helps me with my perception of the things going on in my life. Writing really is such a powerful tool.
